Microorganisms
Microorganisms
A microorganism, or microbe is a microscopic organism, which may exist in its single-celled form or in a colony of cells. They are found all around us and even inside our bodies.
Many types of microorganisms are there...
1. Bacteria
2. Virus
3. Fungi (Yeast & Mould)
4. Protozoa
5. Archaea
6. Algae .
1. Bacteria
Bacteria are large group of microorganisms, they are unicellular livings, they have cell walls but lack organelles and an organized nucleus. they found everywhere on earth some bacteria are living in extreme condition of temperature and pressure. An animal, human have full of microorganisms. They are prokaryots.
Example : E.coli , Salmonella etc.
2. Virus
Viruses are very small type of microorganisms, they are single or double stranded DNA or RNA molecules, Nucleic acid can be linear or circular, they grow on host (living cell), we can say them as parasites. Viruses are both of type living and non living.
Example: Small pox, Chicken Pox etc.
3. Fungi
They are eukaryotic multicellular microorganisms, They produce spores on feeding on organic matter. They are filamentous, Fungi are non-motile and lack of chlorophyll. They are useful and harmful for human also.
Example : Aspergillus, Candida, Mushroom
4. Protozoa
This is a single celled eukaryotic organism and it also can not be seen via naked eyes. They feed organic matter like other microorganisms or organic tissues and debris. they can be free living or parasite in nature. They are cause disease in livings. They are heterotrophic organisms and also called as Animalcules. they lack of cell wall and are colorless.
Example : Amoeba, Paramecium etc.
5. Archaea :
Acrchaea are similar to bacteria in size but they are different in molecular organization. they find in extreme environment like temperature, pressure, ph. most archaea are known to be beneficial rather than harmful to human health.
Example : Methanococcus, Nitrososphaerota etc.
6. Algae :
Algae are a diverse group of aquatic organisms that have the ability to conduct photosynthesis.
The have not true roots, stems and leaves. Algae are single-celled planktonic small organisms.
You have to use a microscope to see, to large ocean kelps that can be 300 feet long.
Example : Microspora, Volvex etc.
